FODOR’S - “…the five-room Villa Verde, an impeccably restored 1700s-era home—its oversized front doors were originally designed for accommodating horse carriages—boasts a gorgeous courtyard and pool.”
CONDE NAST TRAVELER – “Villa Verde is also in an old Mérida mansion, but with a more casually elegant vibe, great service, advice from the friendly expat owners Michael and Robert, and a good-sized swimming pool and bar.”
PASSPORT MAGAZINE – “…a 250-year-old Spanish colonial building with dramatically large doors that once accommodated horses and buggies, was bought by a gay expat couple in 2012. Lovingly restored to its former glory, it now serves as a fabulous five-room guesthouse called Villa Verde, which features a 22-foot ceiling dining room, cantina bar, courtyard pool, and private terrace for clothing optional sunning.”
OUTLOOK MAGAZINE – “...the courtyard was even more beautiful than the website showed, filled with lush vegetation and fountains and lined with a colonnade of ornate tile. The sunny pool area was the perfect place to spend the 90-degree afternoons. And you could have gone hot-air ballooning in our huge room with its 22-foot ceilings.”
MOON TRAVEL GUIDE – “Villa Verde is a gorgeously renovated colonial mansion with a large waterfall pool, lots of common areas for lounging, and … gourmet breakfast every morning. Rooms are spacious and elegant with original mosaic tile floors, six-meter-high (20-foot) ceilings and modern art.”
